Nancy will give you a brief introduction about what Laughter Yoga is, why it differs from normal laughter and what the benefits of Laughter Yoga can be.
The sessions will then begin with a gentle warm-up and will include some deep breathing exercises. This prepares our diaphragm for some deep belly laughter and creates positive energy.
The central part of the session gets you in touch with your playful side. When we are playful the natural outcome to that is laughter and combined with eye contact that laughter becomes real, contagious, spontaneous belly laughter. All this interspersed with deep, mindful breathing exercises.
The session will end with some laughter meditation and either some grounding exercises or yoga nidra/guided meditation.
The sessions generally last about 45 – 60 minutes but each session is tailored to meet the needs of the participants so can be longer or shorter as required.
Laughter Yoga is not a substitute for professional medical advice but is a powerful, natural, complementary form of healing. It is not suitable for everyone and if you have a pre existing medical condition please consult your gp before coming along to a session.
