World Laughter Day was started in 1998 by Dr Madan Kataria – the founder of the Laughter Yoga Movement. It is celebrated on the first Sunday of May which, this year (2017), falls on the 7th.
“The celebration of World Laughter Day is a positive manifestation for world peace and is intended to build up a global consciousness of brotherhood and friendship through laughter. It is most often celebrated by gatherings of people in public places with the sole purpose of laughing.”
We will gather together in Greenhead Park, Huddersfield at 11am tomorrow to celebrate and promote World Peace Through Laughter, joining thousands of other laughers in over 100 countries on the same day! This is the only World Laughter Day event happening in West Yorkshire so don’t miss out!
We have the added bonus that we’re using this special celebration to raise funds/essential items for Huddersfield Change Project so please support and donate what you can. Thank you.
